Staff from LOETB’s Further Education and Training (FET) services recently travelled to the Netherlands as part of an Erasmus+ job shadowing visit to Graafschap College in Doetinchem.
During the visit, staff had the opportunity to observe the Dutch FET system in practice, with a particular focus on programmes that support early school leavers. The team explored how Graafschap College engages learners who may have struggled in traditional education settings and help them return to education and progress towards employment or further study.
The visit also provided valuable insight into the college’s guidance and learning support services. Staff met with European colleagues to discuss the supports and guidance in place to help learners overcome barriers and succeed in education.
Job shadowing opportunities like this allow LOETB staff to exchange ideas with European partners, share good practice, and bring new learning back to support learners across Laois and Offaly.
Through Erasmus+ collaboration, LOETB continues to strengthen its commitment to inclusive education and to supporting every learner to reach their potential.
