Course Overview

Leading Remote Teams Training course with a difference, 4 hours a week over 8 weeks, blended learning environment of online and live facilitated sessions, this course covers the content and conversation for current and upcoming leaders and managers of remote and hybrid teams responsible for delivering results through building and sustaining effective teams. Modules include communication, connection, well-being, culture, performance management, learning and development aswell as change management. The outcome of this course is putting learning into action. Successful completers will receive Grow Remote Digital Learning Badge and Certificate of Completion.

Module Content:

Building Effective Teams – new or existing teams, how do you enhance effectiveness in the move to remote, we look at managing time, individual awareness and stressors and pivoting direction with change.

Communication and Connection – how do you start, what do you stop, what do continue, which channels suit various types of communication, critical conversations and managing conflict, collaboration and decision making.

Employee Well-being – as a manager how do you know when extra support is needed, how can challenges be supported and overcome, the basics of the work environment, listening as a key skill, promoting healthy lifestyle and work-life balance. 

Remote Team Culture – what does that look like for your organization and how can you build it, look at the values and emotional commitment, as a manger how do you play your part, where does it start and end, building trust as a cornerstone, truly engaging employees.

Managing Performance – learn about approaches for remote teams, how it is a continuous, two-way process that has the opportunity to add real value or conversely to take it away, depending upon how it is designed and the importance of management coaching skills. 

Learning and Development – what type of skills do managers need and team members need, not only onboarding but learning, unlearning and upskilling and approaches to career development for the team. 

Change Management – leading in a crisis and managing through change, transitioning from bricks and mortar office to remote or hybrid model, changing tack, this module will take you through the process.

Duration: 

Tutor led online classes and self-directed learning 

Week 1 – 1.5 Hours

Week 2-8 – 1 hour per week
