Contract Training
Contract Training (CT) refers to structure, procurement and management of Training or Education provision outsourced to contractors by LOETB. It is a flexible, innovative and responsive tool to facilitate the delivery of the Further Education and Training (FET) service plan within Laois and Offaly. Contract Training will be shaped by the labour market landscape within both counties, the specific needs of people who are unemployed, under-employed ,or those in employment who require new or enhanced skills.
LOETB provides contracted training throughout Laois and Offaly that:
- Responds to local employment opportunities and business needs
- Responds to the needs of industry and maximises utilisation of the National Construction Training Centre in Mount Lucas
- Responds to the needs of the Long Term Unemployed people
- Identifies and responds to ICT Employment Opportunities
- Enhances the integration of Further Education and Training – training programmes that will provide short-term introductions to vocational programmes that offer an alternative pathway to employment, particularly for early school leavers or young unemployed people
