About Laois and Offaly ETB
Following the passing of the Education and Training Boards Act 2013, Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board was established on 1 July 2013. This legislation has given effect to the most significant change in the organisation and management of vocational education in Ireland since 1930. The transformation of the two county Vocational Educational Committees in Laois and Offaly into one Education and Training Board (LOETB) has created a much larger organisation with new opportunities for growth and development. The focus of the organisation has remained constant as we continue to provide the highest quality lifelong education and training opportunities for all communities across Laois and Offaly. The increasing number of students attending our schools and Further Education and Training Centres is testament to the ongoing success of our work. The functions of LOETB are set out in Section 10 of the Education and Training Boards Act 2013.
